Salma Sulthana
The Woman Who Never Stopped Running the Show
Salma bint Niaz - Firstborn child of Niaz & Sufina.
Early Years
Salma arrived in this world on February 14, 2000 - a date that would forever define her. While other babies were simply born, Salma made an entrance. The nurses cooed. The flowers arrived. Niaz, a man not known for public displays of emotion, was apparently seen wiping his eyes while Sufina held their firstborn daughter and whispered, "She's going to be something special."
Salma was the kind of toddler who didn't just ask for things; she informed you of what was about to happen. As the firstborn daughter of Niaz and Sufina, Salma inherited the best of both worlds: her father's quiet determination and her mother's razor-sharp wit. Niaz, a man of few words and deep wisdom, taught her how to negotiate like a diplomat and stand her ground with grace. Sufina, a woman whose glances could silence a room, taught her how to win any argument without ever raising her voice. Together, they created a daughter who could charm everyone with a smile and out-argue you in the same breath.
Growing up, Salma secretly loved that she was born on Valentine's Day. She'd tell anyone who listened, and many who didn't, that it was clearly a sign she was destined for great romance. Her brothers would roll their eyes. Her mother would smile knowingly. And Salma would wait. She knew her story was going to be special.
Faadil, the middle child, was her reluctant partner-in-crime-always dragged along, always complaining, but always showing up. He was the one she practiced her arguments on, the one she forced into matching outfits for family photos, and the one who somehow still adores her despite years of being bossed around. She also taught him how to read, how to tie his shoelaces, and how to negotiate with their parents for a later curfew. She's never admitted it, but Faadil is her favourite.

Choice Maker
Salma studied at Choice School, Ernakulam, which, let's be honest, is where she learned to be choosy about everything. Choice about her friends. Choice about her career and very, choice about who she'd finally let into her life.
Salma pursued Architecture, a field that perfectly married her creative vision with her obsessive attention to detail. She spent countless nights hunched over blueprints, making her models look like works of art.
After graduation, Salma did something that raised eyebrows: she traded drafting tables for deal-making. She joined an international real estate firm and quickly discovered that selling properties was just like designing them, which needed vision, precision, and the ability to convince people that your vision was the only one that mattered. Within years, she had climbed the ranks to lead the sales team, where she now oversees multimillion-pound deals, manages a team of ambitious agents, and still finds time to critique the floor plans of every property she sells.
Her colleagues will tell you she's the one who closes the impossible deals. Her clients will tell you she's the one who made them fall in love with a home they didn't even know they wanted. And her family will tell you that she's been selling them ideas since she was three years old, so this was really just a natural career progression.
Hobbies & Everything in between
When Salma isn't closing deals or planning her wedding down to the last flower petal, she can be found committing three acts of pure joy:
Crafting: From handmade greeting cards to intricate home decor, Salma's hands are never idle. She can turn a pile of paper, ribbon, and glue into something that looks like it belongs in a boutique. Her family's walls are covered in her creations. They have no choice. She gives them as gifts and expects them to be displayed.
Baking cakes and bakery items: This is where Salma truly shines. Her cakes are legendary, moist, perfectly frosted, and so beautiful that you almost don't want to eat them. Almost. Her cookies disappear within minutes of emerging from the oven. Her brownies have caused actual family feuds over the last piece. Sufina has officially declared Salma the official cake-maker for all family occasions.
But Salma's most defining trait, the one her family talks about most, is this: Anyone in the family needs a helping hand, it's Salma. Need someone to plan a surprise birthday party? Salma's on it. Need someone to pick up a family member from the airport at 2 AM? Salma's already in the car. Need someone to talk to when they are worried? Salma's on the phone. Need someone to taste-test a disastrous cooking experiment? Salma will show up, eat it, and gently suggest modifications next time. She is the backbone of her family, the one everyone turns to, the one who never says no. She'll boss you around while helping you, but she'll always show up.
She is fiercely loyal, impossibly organized, and has a laugh that fills entire rooms. Her family will tell you she's bossy. Her friends will tell you she's the one you call when you need advice, a plan, or someone to tell you exactly what you're doing wrong. Her fiancé will tell you she's the best thing that ever happened to him - but only when she's not in the room, because she'd never let him live it down.
A Valentine's baby who believed she was born for romance and spent her childhood bossing everyone around while secretly being the one they all depended on. Now, Salma is a Valentine's woman who found her romance, leads a sales team of dozens, bakes cakes that cause family feuds, and is still the first person everyone calls when they need help. Some things never change. Thank goodness.

I was born on Valentine's Day, and I spent my whole life waiting for a love story that matched my birthday. Then Aamil walked in late, and I realised that the best love stories aren't the perfect ones. They're the ones that make you laugh. And he makes me laugh. Even when he's wrong. Which is often."
And to my family, you know I'll always be there. Even when you don't ask.
